My god, My God?
Who/what have you made God in your life? Here are a few points from last Sunday’s message to help keep you on track this week….and checking your idolatry meter!
- We can only serve 1 God! - Luke 16:13
- “Whatever most dominates our affections is what we worships” – Make God the center of your affections. Put Him first and you will see Him work in your life!
- Some idolatry is obvious, while other forms are much more subtle…these are the worst ones (people, TV, social media, THINGS, work, leisure, business)
- Idolatry chokes the Word in your life and makes it of no effect – Mark 4:19
- God take idolatry seriously! Exodus 20:3, Joshua 24:15, 2 Timothy 3: 1-7
- God tell us to “stay away” from those that desire the things of the world above Him…so don’t be one of them!
- Seek God FIRST in all you do and all the things you want, need, like, and desire (inside His Will) will be given to you – Matthew 6:33
- Putting God first is the KEY to having the desires of your heart and fulfilling the call on your life
