A Prayer for Protection from Psalm 91
PRAY THIS OUT LOUD DAILY
Father, I praise You that I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and that I shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of You,
Lord, "the Lord is my refuge and my fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I confidently trust!" For then You will deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
Then You will cover me with Your feathers, and under Your wings shall I trust and find refuge. Your truth and Your faithfulness are a shield and a buckler to me.
I shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand, but it shall not come nigh my dwelling.
For You will give Your angels especial charge over me, to accompany, defend and preserve me in all my ways of obedience and service to You.
Your angels shall bear me up on their hands, lest I dash my foot against a stone. I shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall I trample underfoot. Because I have set my love upon You, therefore will You deliver me.
You will set me on high, because I know and understand Your name. I have a personal knowledge of Your mercy, love and kindness. I trust and rely on You, knowing You will never forsake me, no, never. I shall call upon You, and You will answer me.
You will be with me in trouble. You will deliver me and honor me. With long life will You satisfy me and show me Your salvation.

REAKING CURSES
In the name of Jesus Christ, I now rebuke, break, and loose myself and my family from any and all evil curses, fetishes, charms, vexes, hexes, spells, every jinx, all psychic powers, sorcery, bewitchments, enchantments, witchcraft, love potions, and psychic prayers that have been put upon me, back to ten generations on both sides of my family.
I break and loose myself from any and all connected or related spirits from any person or persons or from any occult or psychic sources. I ask You, Heavenly Father, to return them to the senders now. Let him that loves cursing receive it unto himself.
PSYCHIC HEREDITY AND BONDAGE
In the name of Jesus, I now renounce, break, free, and loose myself and my family from all psychic heredity, demonic holds, psychic powers, and bondage of physical and mental illnesses, family, marital, and other curses upon us, back to ten generations on both sides of our families resulting from sins, transgressions, iniquities, occult and psychic involvements of myself, my parents, and any other ancestors of mine or my spouse, and all ex-spouses, or their parents, or any of their ancestors.
I plead the blood of Jesus, in the Name of Jesus declaring that the enemy cannot penetrate the blood of Jesus.

And the Lord thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.

The Children
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray and confess Your Word over my children and surround them with my faith - faith in Your Word that You watch over it to perform it! I confess and believe that my children are disciples of Christ taught of the Lord and obedient to Your will. Great is the peace and undisturbed composure of my children, because You, God, contend with that which contends with my children, and You give them safety and ease them.
Father, You will perfect that which concerns me. I commit and cast the care of my children once and for all over on you, Father. They are in Your hands, and I am positively persuaded that You are able to guard and keep that which I have committed to You. You are more than enough!
I confess that my children obey their parents in the Lord as His representatives, because this is just and right. My children honor, esteem, and value as precious their parents; for this is the first commandment with a promise: that all may be well with my children and that they may live long on the earth.
I believe and confess that my children choose life and love You, Lord, obey Your voice, and cling to You; for You are their life and the length of their days. Therefore, my children are the head and not the tail, and shall be above only and not beneath. They are blessed when they come in and when they go out.
I believe and confess that You give Your angels charge over my children to accompany and defend and preserve them in all their ways. You, Lord, are their refuge and fortress. You are their glory and the lifter of their heads.
As parents, we will not provoke, irritate, or fret our children. We will not be hard on them or harass them, or cause them to become discouraged, sullen, or morose, or feel inferior and frustrated.
We will not break or wound their spirits, but we will rear them tenderly in the training, discipline, counsel, and admonition of the Lord. We will train them in the way they should go, and when they are old they will not depart from it.
O Lord, my Lord, how excellent (majestic and glorious) is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory on or above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babes and unweaned infants You have established strength because of Your foes, that You might silence the enemy and the avenger. I sing praise to Your name, O Most High. The enemy is turned back from my children in the name of Jesus! They increase in wisdom and in favor with God and man. Amen.

Compatibility in Marriage
Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray and confess that my spouse and I endure long and are patient and kind; that we are never envious and never boil over with jealousy. We are not boastful or vainglorious, and we do not display ourselves haughtily. We are not conceited or arrogant and inflated with pride. We are not rude and unmannerly, and we do not act unbecomingly. We do not insist on our own rights or our own way, for we are not self-seeking or touchy or fretful or resentful. We take no account of the evil done to us and pay no attention to a suffered wrong. We do not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but we rejoice when right and truth prevail.
We bear up under anything and everything that comes. We are ever ready to believe the best of each other. Our hopes are fadeless under all circumstances. We endure everything without weakening. Our love never fails - it never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end. We purposely and consciously walk in the agape love of God.
We are confessing that our lives and our family's lives lovingly express truth in all things that we speak truly, deal truly, and live truly. We are enfolded in love and have grown up in every way and in all things. We esteem and delight in one another, forgiving one another readily and freely as God in Christ has forgiven us. We are imitators of God and copy His example as well-beloved children imitate their father.
Thank You, Father, that our marriage grows stronger each day because it is founded on Your Word and on Your kind of love. We give You the praise for it all, Father, in the name of Jesus.

Confession of Favor
In the Name of Jesus, I am the righteousness of God. Therefore, I am entitled to covenant kindness and covenant favor. The favor of God is among the righteous. The favor of God surrounds the righteous. Therefore, it surrounds me everywhere I go and in everything I do. I expect the favor of God to be in full manifestation in my life.
Never again will I be without the favor of God. It rests richly upon me. It profusely abounds in me. I am a part of the generation that is experiencing God's favor immeasurably, limitlessly, and surpassingly. Therefore, favor produces supernatural increase, promotion, restoration, honor, increased assets, greater victories, recognition, prominence, preferential treatment, petitions granted, policies and rules changed, and battles won in which I do not have to fight.
The favor of God is on me and goes before. Therefore, my life will never be the same. This is the time of God's favor in my life. That is the favor of God. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Father God, we thank You that pastor ____________ is filled with the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. He is fulfilling Your perfect purpose and plan for his life. He hears the voice of the Good Shepherd and the voice of a stranger he'll not follow. We pray that the Spirit of wisdom, knowledge, counsel, might and understanding will guide him in every meeting, activity and conversation he engages in. We thank You that he gives himself continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word.
We thank You that he is protected from all hurt, harm, danger and accident. He enjoys his free time without interruption and is refreshed and rested for every day's work, for his youth is renewed like the eagles. No weapon that is formed against him shall prosper and every lying tongue risen against him shall be silenced. Every business deal works to his favor and advantage, and Your blessings overtake him because he hearkens diligently unto the voice of the Lord his God.
We cancel every attack of the wicked one to bring deception, distractions, hindrances and temptations into his life. Devil, you are bound and have no authority over our pastor, his family or his possessions. We cover pastor __________ with the blood of Jesus, and release the angels of God to minister for him and bring him into God's best every day of his life.
Father, we thank You that You have opened doors of utterance for him to proclaim boldly the gospel with signs following. He is teaching believers how to live independent of this world system and have dominion over it. He has clarity of vision, unimpeded by ungodly sources or input. He is always in the right place at the right time with the right information and the right understanding. All hidden things of darkness are revealed to him and are made manifest by the light. The anointing of increase is upon his life and whatsoever he does prospers.
We thank You that his family is of one heart and in one accord, and are enjoying the days of Heaven upon the earth. His seed is mighty upon the earth and blessed, and wealth and riches are in his house. He fellowships with leaders of like precious faith and has set a new standard of excellence for the body of Christ. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Confession for the Unsaved Spouse
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You that the love of God has been poured into my heart by the Holy Spirit Who has been given to me. The love of and for you, Father, has been perfected and completed in me.
Father, I am Your child, and I commit to walk in the God-kind of love. Since You love me, I know that You love (my spouse) also, for we are one in Your love.
Father, we all have sinned and come short of your glory. Therefore, I confess and acknowledge my sins to You and ask for Your forgiveness. Cleanse me from all unrighteousness, in the Name of Jesus. I NOW freely and fully forgive (my spouse) and place (my spouse) in Your care, because of Your forgiving love. I cast all hurts, criticisms, condemnations, judgments, unforgiveness, and fears on Jesus Christ to be healed, cleansed and made whole - for both of us.
I consider (my spouse) in our marital relationship. I realize that we are one, and joint-heirs to the throne with Jesus, spiritually; so that our prayers will not be hindered.
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I NOW rebuke, bind, and curse all satanic attacks assigned against us; and they dry up and die - as the fig tree. I plead the blood of Jesus over (my spouse), over myself, and over our home, in Jesus' Name.
As for me and my house we shall serve the Lord! Our house shall be called a "House of Prayer". Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

Daily Spiritual Warfare Confession
To Build Up Your Inner Man
Father God, this day I release words of faith into the earth, spiritual seed that bring both a spiritual harvest, and a natural, physical manifestation into my life.
I have no cares for I cast the whole of my cares over on Jesus, for He cares for me. I have no heavy burdens because I've taken Jesus' yoke which is easy and His burden which is light.
I will not allow my soul to be cast down for I put my hope and trust in God. I am above only and not beneath. I am the head and not the tail. I'm blessed coming in and blessed going out.
I am one spirit with God and I abide in Him always. I have the mind of Jesus Christ and the wisdom of God flows in me and through me. My body is the temple of God the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, for the fullness of God dwells in me.
I tread upon serpents and scorpions and I exercise righteous authority over all the power of the enemy. Nothing shall by any means hurt me. I am skilled in the word of righteousness and I call things that be not as though they were. I will not fear what man or spirit can do unto me because no weapon formed against me shall prosper. Any tongue that rises against me in judgment shall be condemned.
The blood of the Lord Jesus Christ covers my spirit, soul and body, and has sanctified me and separated me from the world, the flesh and the devil. I not only have my senses exercised to discern both good and evil, but I aggressively come against the kingdom of darkness and spoil every plot and scheme satan has waged against me and those around me. I am more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ.
I take my shield of faith and quench satan's every fiery dart. I will not be distracted from doing the will of God, and I will not stray to the left hand or to the right. I have sound judgment and discretion and I refuse to be deceived by Satan in any way.
My mind is sharp and my spirit is keenly sensitive to disturbances in the spirit realm. I watch and pray and prevent evil from taking place because the Holy Spirit shows me things to come. I am equipped with spiritual armor and weaponry and I am never caught off guard by the wicked one.
I sow fruits of righteousness and will never back down from the truth. I am bold as a lion and I refuse to be intimidated by the enemy.
All things are mine and I exercise dominion over the earth. I reign in life by Jesus Christ through grace and righteousness. My love weapon casts out fear and I aggressively love others unconditionally. For love never fails!
All of my days are filled with abundance and prosperity because Jesus is Lord over all. I choose to be a vessel through which His will can be done in the earth. In Jesus' Name, Amen!
Faith Confession
In the name of Jesus, I am a believer. I believe God's Word. I am what the Word says I am. I have what the Word says I have. I can do what the Word says I can do. In Jesus' name, I render ineffective every negative word I have spoken, every negative thing I have thought, every word and thought that has been contrary to the truth of God's Word. From this moment forward, I will acknowledge only the good things that are in me in Christ Jesus. I am saying it now: out of the good treasure of my heart, only good things will come to pass.
I am the righteousness of God, a new creation, an heir of God, and a joint-heir with Jesus. I have been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the Kingdom of God's Dear Son. I have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb - redeemed from the curse of the Law; redeemed from sickness and disease, poverty and death.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I am more than a conqueror. He never leaves me nor forsakes me. Since the Greater One dwells within me, I can overcome every situation. The faith of God resides within me, and through it I have the victory that overcomes the world.
I thank you, Father, that I can have all these things. I believe it in my heart. I have released it with my mouth. So be it. It will surely come to pass, in Jesus' name, Amen!
Financial Confession
Father, in the Name of Jesus I confess Your will over my finances this day, that I have given the tithes of my increase and I claim the windows of heaven blessings for my life. Thank You Father, my mind is alert and I hear Your voice and the voice of the stranger I will not follow.
Thank You, I receive now doors of opportunity open for me and my family. Father, I have given to the poor, therefore, I will never lack. I will always have all sufficiency in all things as you are raising up others to use their power, their ability and their influence to help me.
I expect daily, Father, for the Spirit of God to speak to men and women concerning giving to me, and in the name of Jesus those to whom the Spirit of God has designated are free to obey and give to me good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over. In Jesus' Name, I believe every need is met with heaven's best.
I have given for the support of the work of God and those who teach His Word. You promised that You would supply all my need according to your riches in glory by Christ Jesus. So, I thank You Father, I live the best and enjoy the best in every area of my life. Father,
Your Word said I can decree a thing because of my covenant vow with You for the kingdom of God in the earth. Now this is my decree (whatever that particular decree is) and I thank You for wisdom and insight to bring it to pass.
You give me and my family richly all things to enjoy. Now, Satan, I bind your activity in my life and I loose the angels, the ministering spirits of God to minister for me and bring in the necessary finances so that I may continue to finance the kingdom of God. Father, Your Word declares that my giving increases the fruits of my righteousness.
I thank You Father, I have the abundance of peace, the abundance of joy, the abundance of patience, the abundance of temperance and the abundance of goodness. The maximum return on my giving is mine because I give to promote the Name of Jesus and the gospel in the earth. In Jesus' name, Amen.
What happens when I confess the Word?
- Causes faith to come
- Stops satanic hindrances
- Angels get their assignment from the Word of God (Angels are assigned to assist in the will of God to come to pass in my life)
- Conditions my spirit to produce
Harmonious Marriage
Father, in the Name of Jesus, it is written in Your Word that Your love is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost Who is given to us. Because You are in us, we acknowledge that love reigns supreme. We believe that love is displayed in full expression enfolding and knitting us together in truth, making us perfect for every good work to do Your will, working in us that which is pleasing in Your sight.
We live and conduct our marriage and ourselves honorably and becomingly. We esteem it as precious, worthy, and of great price. We commit ourselves to live in mutual harmony and accord with one another delighting in each other, being of the same mind and united in spirit.
Father, we believe and say that we are gentle, compassionate, courteous, tenderhearted, and humble-minded. We seek peace, and it keeps our hearts in quietness and assurance. Because we follow after love and dwell in peace, our prayers are not hindered in any way, in the Name of Jesus. We are heirs together of the grace of God.
Our marriage grows stronger day by day in the bond of unity because it is founded on Your Word and rooted and grounded in Your love. We decree this day, we have a marriage made in heaven! Father, we thank You for the performance of it, in Jesus' Name.

Healing For Damaged Emotions
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I come boldly to Your throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in this time need. I admit I have felt shame and emotional hurt. I confess my transgression to You [continually unfolding the past till all is told]. You are faithful and just to forgive me and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. You are my hiding place and You, Lord, preserve me from trouble. You surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance. I have chosen life and according to Your Word You saw me while I was being formed in Mother's womb and on the authority of Your Word I was wonderfully made. Now, I am Your handiwork, recreated in Christ Jesus.
Father, You have delivered me from the spirit of fear and I shall not be ashamed. Neither shall I be confounded and depressed. You gave me beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning and the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness that I might be a tree of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that You might be glorified. I speak out in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, offering praise with my voice and making melody with all my heart to the Lord. Just as David did in 1 Samuel 30:6, I encourage myself in the Lord.
I believe in God Who raised Jesus from the dead, Who was betrayed and put to death because of my misdeeds and was raised to secure my acquittal, absolving me from all guilt before God. Father, You anointed Jesus and sent Him to bind up and heal my broken heart, and liberate me from the shame of my youth and the imperfections of my caretakers. In the Name of Jesus, I choose to forgive all those who have wronged me in any way. You will not leave me without support as I complete the forgiveness process. I take comfort and I am encouraged and confidently say, "The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm. What can man do to me?"
My spirit is the candle of the Lord searching all the innermost parts of my being and the Holy Spirit leads me into all truth. When reality exposes shame and emotional pain, I remember that the sufferings of this present time are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to me and in me and for me and conferred on me! The chastisement needful to obtain my peace and well being was upon Jesus, and with the stripes that wounded Him I was healed and made whole. As Your child, Father, I have a joyful and confident hope of eternal salvation. This hope will never disappoint, delude or shame me, for God's love has been poured out in my heart through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to me.
In His Name I pray, amen.

Letting Go of the Past
Father, I realize my helplessness in saving myself, and I glory in what Christ Jesus has done for me. I let go - put aside all past sources of my confidence - counting them worth less than nothing, in order that I may experience Christ and become one with Him.
Lord, I have received Your Son, and He has given me the authority (power, privilege, and right) to become Your child.
I unfold my past and put into proper perspective those things that are behind. I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself for me. I trust in You, Lord, with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding. In all my ways I acknowledge You, and You will make my paths straight.
I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in His sufferings, becoming like Him in His death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead. So, whatever it takes, I will be one who lives in the fresh newness of life of those who are alive from the dead.
I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: regardless of my past I look forward to what lies ahead. I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which You are calling me up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for me.
In His name I pray, amen.

Health and Healing
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I confess Your Word concerning healing. As I do this, I believe and say that Your Word will not return to You void, but will accomplish what it says it will. Therefore, I believe in the Name of Jesus that I am healed, according to 1 Peter 2:24. It is written in Your word that Jesus himself took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. Therefore, with great boldness and confidence I say on the authority of that written Word that I am redeemed from the curse of sickness, and I refuse to tolerate its symptoms.
Satan, I speak to you in the Name of Jesus and say that your principalities, powers, your spirits who rule the present darkness, and your spiritual wickedness in heavenly places are bound from operating against me in any way. I am the property of Almighty God, and I give you no place in me. I dwell in the secret place of the Most High God. I abide, remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty, whose power no foe can withstand.
Now, Father, because I reverence and worship You, I have the assurance of Your word that the angel of the Lord encamps around about me and delivers me from every evil work. No evil shall befall me, no plague or calamity shall come near my dwelling. I confess the Word of God abides in me and delivers to me perfect soundness of mind and wholeness in body and spirit from the deepest parts of my nature in my immortal spirit even to the joints and marrow of my bones. That Word is medication and life to my flesh for the law of the Spirit of life operates in me and makes me free from the law of sin and death.
I have on the whole armor of God, and the shield of faith protects me from all the fiery darts of the wicked. Jesus is the High Priest of my confession, and I hold fast to my confession of faith in Your Word. I stand immovable and fixed in full assurance that I have health and healing now in the Name of Jesus. Amen.
Once this has been prayed, thank the Father that Satan is bound and continue to confess this healing and thank God for it.

Overcoming Infidelity
Father, I thank you that You hear my prayer, for I come in the Name of Jesus and on the authority of Your Word. I come boldly to the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help in my time of need. I take my place - standing in the gap - against the devil and his demons until the salvation and deliverance of God is manifested in my marriage and life. Father, I forgive all of those individuals who I may be holding in unforgiveness. I forgive them for their sins and any wrong they may have done toward me and I stand firm knowing that the Holy Spirit will convict and convince them of sin, righteousness and judgment.
I am sane, sober-minded, temperate, and disciplined. I love my husband and my family and I confine myself to them. I am self-controlled, chaste, good-natured, and kindhearted, adapting and subordinating myself to my husband, that the Word of God may not be exposed to reproach - blasphemed or discredited.
In a similar way, I confess that my husband is self-restrained, prudent and he takes life seriously. He drinks waters out of his own cistern [of a pure marriage relationship], and fresh running waters out of his own well - lest his offsprings be dispersed abroad as waterbrooks in the street. He confines himself to his own wife, and their children will be for them alone and not the children of strangers with them. His fountain of human life is blessed with the rewards of fidelity, and he rejoices with the wife of his youth. He lets his wife be to him as the loving hind and pleasant doe [tender, gentle, and attractive]. He lets her bosom satisfy him at all times; and he is transported with the delight in her love.
My husband submits himself to Christ, Who is the head of the man. My husband is my head and we are subject one to the other out of reverence for Christ.
Thank you, Father, for hearing my prayer on behalf of my marriage. I know that You watch over Your Word to perform it, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Prayer for Husbands to Confess
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I take Your Word and confess this day that I hearken to Your wisdom. My wife and I dwell securely in confident trust, and we are without fear or dread of evil. I make my ears attentive to skillful and godly wisdom, inclining and directing my heart and mind to understanding. I apply all of my power to the quest of wisdom and understanding.
I let not mercy, kindness and truth forsake me. I bind them about my neck and write them on the tablet of my heart. I prize the wisdom of God highly and exalt her. She will exalt and promote me, bringing me honor because I embrace her. For You, Lord, are my confidence, firm and strong, and You keep my foot from being caught in a trap or hidden danger.
Where I go, the Word of God shall lead me. When I sleep, it shall keep me. When I awaken, it shall talk to me. Therefore, I will speak excellent and princely things, and the opening of my lips shall be for right things. All the words of my mouth are righteous - upright and in right standing with God - and there is nothing contrary to truth or crooked in them.
I live considerately with my wife, with an intelligent recognition of our marriage relationship. I honor my wife as physically the weaker. However, I realize that we are joint-heirs to the throne with Jesus spiritually. I do this in order that our prayers will not be hindered or cut off.
I confess that my wife and I are of one and the same mind, united in spirit, compassionate and courteous, tenderhearted and humble minded. I believe for our welfare, happiness, and protection, because we love and respect each other.
Father, thank You that we are a couple of good report, that we are successful in everything we set our hands to. We are uncompromisingly righteous. We capture human lives for You as fishers of men. As we do this, we are confident that You are the Lord God Who teaches us to profit and leads us in the way we should go. We are abundantly supplied, with every need met, in the Name of Jesus. We have obtained the favor of the Lord, and the will of God is done in our lives and in our children's lives.

A Prayer for Protection from Psalm 91
Father, I praise You that I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and that I shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of You, Lord, "the Lord is my refuge and my fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I confidently trust!" For then You will deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

Prayer for a Teenager
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I affirm Your Word over my teenager. I commit him/her to you and delight myself also in You. I thank You that You deliver out of rebellion into right relationship with his/her parents.
Father, the first commandment with a promise is to the child who obeys his parents in the Lord. You said that all will be well with him and he will live long on the earth. I affirm this promise on behalf of my child asking You to give him an obedient spirit that he may honor (esteem and value as precious) those in right authority over him.
Father, forgive me for mistakes I made out of my own unresolved hurts or selfishness which may have caused him hurt. I release the anointing that is upon Jesus to bind up and heal our broken hearts. Give us the ability to understand and forgive one another as God for Christ's sake has forgiven us. Thank You for the Holy Spirit Who leads us into all truth and corrects erroneous perceptions about past or present situations.
Thank You for teaching us to listen to each other and giving him an ear that hears admonition for then he will be called wise. I affirm that I will speak excellent and princely things and the opening of my lips shall be for right things. Father, I commit to train and teach him in the way that he is to go and when he is old he will not depart from sound doctrine and teaching, but will follow it all the days of his life. In the Name of Jesus, I command rebellion to be far from the heart of my teenager and confess that he is willing and obedient, free to enjoy the reward of Your promises. He shall be peaceful bringing peace to others.
Father, according to Your Word we have been given the ministry of reconciliation and I release this ministry and the word of reconciliation into this family situation. I refuse to provoke or irritate or fret my child. I will not be hard on him lest he becomes discouraged, feeling inferior and frustrated. I will not break his spirit in the name of Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Father, I forgive my teenager for the wrongs which he has done and stand in the gap until he comes to his senses and escapes out of the snare of the enemy (rebellion). Thank You for watching over Your Word to perform it, turning and reconciling the heart of the rebellious child to the parents and the hearts of the parents to the child. Thank You for bringing my teenager back into a healthy relationship with You and with me that our lives might glorify You!
In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Prayer For Wives to Confess
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I take Your Word and speak it out of my mouth and say that I have faith that I am a capable, intelligent, patient, and virtuous woman. I am far more precious than jewels. My value to my husband and family is far above rubies and pearls.
The heart of my husband trusts in me confidently and relies on and believes in me completely, so that he has no lack of honest gain or need of dishonest spoil.
Father, I will comfort, encourage, and do him only good as long as there is life within me. I gird myself with strength -- spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for my God-given task. I taste and see that my gain from work with and for God is good. My lamp goes not out. It burns on continually through the night of any trouble, privation, or sorrow, and it warns away fear, doubt, and distrust.
I open my hand to the poor. I reach out my filled hands to the needy - whether in spirit, soul, or body. My husband is known as a success in everything he puts his hand to. Strength and dignity are my clothing, and my position in my household is strong. I am secure and at peace in knowing that my family is in readiness for the future.
I open my mouth with skillful and Godly wisdom, and in my tongue is the law of kindness and love. I look well to how things go in my household. The bread of idleness, gossip, discontent, and self-pity I will not eat.
My children rise up and call me blessed and happy. My husband boasts of and praises me, saying that I excel in all that I set my hand to. I am a woman who reverently and worshipfully loves You, Lord, and You shall give me the fruits of my hands. My works will praise me wherever I go, for Father, I confess that I am a submitted wife - simply because I want to be and I recognize Your authority. I thank You for my husband who is head over me, but who has given me (through the chain of command) the necessary power to do what Your Word says for me to do from Proverbs 31:10-31. I am as this woman is - a loving, successful, submitted wife - in the Name of Jesus.

To Walk in God's Wisdom
and his Perfect Will
Father, I thank you that the communication of my faith becomes effectual by acknowledging every good thing, which is in me in Christ Jesus. I hear the voice of the Good Shepherd. I hear my Father's voice, and the voice of a stranger I will not follow.
Father, I believe in my heart and say with my mouth that this day the will of God is done in my life. I walk in a manner worthy of You Lord, fully pleasing to You and desiring to please You in all things, bearing fruit in every good work. Jesus has been made unto me wisdom. I single-mindedly walk in that wisdom expecting to know what to do in every situation and to be on top of every circumstance!
I roll my works upon You, Lord, and You make my thoughts agreeable to Your will, and so my plans are established and succeed. You direct my steps and make them sure. I understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is for I am not vague, thoughtless, or foolish. I stand firm and mature in spiritual growth, convinced and fully assured in everything willed by God.
Father, You have destined and appointed me to come progressively to know Your will - that is to perceive, to recognize more strongly and clearly, and to become better and more intimately acquainted with Your will. I thank you, Father, for the Holy Spirit Who abides permanently in me and Who guides me into all the Truth - the whole, full Truth - and speaks whatever He hears from the Father and announces and declares to me the things that are to come. I have the mind of Christ and hold the thoughts, feelings, and purposes of His heart.
So, Father, I have entered into that blessed rest by adhering, trusting, and relying on You in the Name of Jesus. Hallelujah! Amen.

Victorious Confessions for the Virtuous Woman
Father, I thank You that I am renewed in the spirit of my mind as I wait only upon You; for my hope and expectation are from You. I daily receive the manifestation of Your Word in my life and I thank You Father that You have begun a good work in me, and You will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
I am a capable, intelligent, virtuous woman.
I live the overcoming life.
I live in daily expectation of abundance for my life.
Every need in my life is met.
I have a sound mind.
I live a long life because I am redeemed from the curse of the law.
I walk in divine health and healing is my covenant right.
I am redeemed from the curse of the law; because I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty, "No plague comes nigh my dwelling."
The devourer is rebuked off of my life and all that concerns me; he shall not destroy the fruit (children) of my ground, neither shall my vine cast its fruit before its appointed time, says the Lord of hosts.
He redeems my life from destruction; I overcome with my faith.
My mind is alert; my body is strong all the days of my life.
I live a life of purpose and fulfillment; I am a blessing to the kingdom of God.
In Jesus' Name, Amen!

To Walk in Forgiveness
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I make a fresh commitment to You to live in peace and harmony, not only with the other brothers and sisters of the Body of Christ, but also with my friends, associates, neighbors, and family.
I let go of all bitterness, resentment, envying, strife, and unkindness in any form. I give no place to the devil in Jesus' Name. Now Father, I ask Your forgiveness. By faith, I receive it, having assurance that I am cleansed from all unrighteousness through Jesus Christ. I ask You to forgive and release all who have wronged and hurt me. I forgive and release them. Deal with them in your mercy and loving-kindness.
From this moment on, I purpose to walk in love, to seek peace, to live in agreement, and to conduct myself toward others in a manner that is pleasing to You. I know that I have right standing with you and Your ears are attentive to my prayers.
It is written in Your Word that the love of God has been poured forth into my heart by the Holy Ghost Who is given to me. I believe that love flows forth into the lives of everyone I know, that I may be filled with and abound in the fruits of righteousness which bring glory and honor unto You, Lord, in Jesus' Name. So be it! Amen.

Confession - The Words of My Mouth
Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank you that I am a new creation in Christ Jesus, and because I am a new creature, I will speak of excellent things, and the opening of my lips shall be right things. For my mouth shall speak truth and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; and there is nothing froward or perverse in them. They are plain to him that understandeth and right to them that find knowledge.
My lips feed many because I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. My tongue is as choice silver, and my mouth bringeth forth wisdom because I am the just. My lips know what is acceptable and my lips shall establish truth forever. I am a delight to the Lord, for I deal truly. My lips shall preserve me and I use knowledge aright because I am wise. Wisdom is found in my lips because I have understanding.
I have a wholesome tongue and it is a tree of life. Pleasant words are always in my mouth, because they are as a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to my bones.
My words are as deep waters and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook. God has given me wisdom and out of my mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. My mouth is a well of life. Death and life are in the power of my tongue, and I choose life. Therefore, I will not let any corrupt communication proceed out of my mouth. I will not speak evil of any man.
My thoughts are right because I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I think on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and of good report.
I have been transformed by the renewing of my mind with the Word of God because I have the mind of Christ and the wisdom of God. I am an imitator of Jesus.

DEBT-FREE CONFESSION
We, the body of Believers of Living Word Christian Center, declare we have been carved out for an end-time expression of El Shaddai, the God of abundance and no lack.
We are taught how to live independent of this world system and how to have dominion over it, therefore, in Jesus' Name, we declare we are debt-free! The spirit of debt is destroyed over our lives and over this local church because of the anointing.
We are the lender and not the borrower, the head and not the tail. We are blessed coming in and blessed going out. The Father daily loads us with benefits and causes His blessings to overtake us. Wealth and riches are in our house and we increase more and more.
God has given us power to get wealth to establish His Kingdom here in the earth and millions are now hearing the gospel and receiving Jesus as Lord. We are plenteous in goods, for God has given us richly all things to enjoy.
The blessing of the Lord has made us rich, adding no sorrow with it. We are joint-heirs with Jesus Christ and Abraham's blessings belong to us. We are Holy Millionaires and we walk in God's wisdom, exercising sound judgment and stewardship over this wealth. We sow bountifully, therefore, we reap bountifully.
We give and it is given unto us good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.
We have the wealth of the wicked and we owe no man anything, but love! The devourer is rebuked for our sakes and he cannot destroy the fruits of our ground. All these promises are ours by faith and faith works by love, so we constantly walk in the light, in love, in the Word, and the wicked one touches us not.
Our hearts are fixed, trusting in the Lord. We hold fast to our confession of faith. We are "THE DEBT-FREE REDEEMED OF THE LORD" and we say so, in Jesus' Name, Amen.
Insight Into Harry Potter: Behind The Scenes
This issue regarding Harry Potter to the Christian is no different than any other situation the Word of God has already addressed. How often the Word of God admonishes us to be a light to the world, to be living epistles (living letters) known and read of all men, to be salt in the earth. When Believers abandon their post or shun their responsibilities to occupy until Jesus returns, we allow people to appear out of no where and command prayer to be taken out of schools, and the results seem as if it happened almost uncontested by the called-out ones. A frog doesn't know it's being boiled until it's literally cooked because of its unique ability to adapt to the environment.
Don't allow the world to desensitize us to ways that are not pleasing to God. The Word of God tells us in Romans 12:1-2, "And so dear brothers, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living sacrifice, holy-the kind He can accept. When you think of what He has done for you, is this too much to ask? Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but be a new and different person with a fresh newness in all you do and think. Then you will learn from your own experience how His ways will really satisfy you." (New Living Translation)
Darkness is getting darker in this world and we do not have to participate, and we shouldn't be ignorant (lack knowledge) of the wiles (tricks) of the devil. Listen to this quote: "See what I've become", the face said, "mere shadow and vapor". "I have form only when I can share another's body, but there have always been those willing to let me into their hearts and mind, unicorn blood has strengthened me these past weeks." This is an excerpt from a Harry Potter book.
In chapter 10 of one of the Harry Potter books, an 11-year old girl asks the evil spirit of Voldemort to arise in her and she recounts in her diary, "I don't know what has come over me (murdering people), I'm doing things I have no control over". In chapter 13, Voldemort's spirit starts laughing and mocking Harry and says, "she didn't know she was killing on Halloween when she had blood all over her".
Who is Voldemort? He is an evil spirit who is an enemy of the Harry Potter character. Voldemort killed Harry's parents. Harry's mother gave her life for Harry so that he could be saved. Through this love sacrifice, Harry was protected from death. Voldemort (Harry's arch-enemy) takes a vial of blood from Harry (book #4) in order to have the blood run through his own veins so that he can be resurrected and have a body. That is how powerful the blood sacrifice is to these characters.
One six-year old child told me, from her understanding, that "Harry gets his power from drinking unicorn blood. Harry's last name "Potter" means female goddess who created human beings from clay, and that the God of Israel copied from her because He, the God of Israel, could not give birth. Harry Potter's character lies, is rebellious to authority, casts curses, yet at his school he is rewarded in spite of his defiance. What lesson can a child receive from that?
What Are The Children Saying?
"I'd like to go to wizard school, learn magic, and put spells on people. I'd make up an ugly spell, and then it's payback time". Catherine, age 9
"I want to go to wizard school and learn magic. I'd like to learn to use a wand to cast spells".
Dylan, age 10
"If I could go to wizard school, I might be able to do spells and potions and fly a broomstick".
Mara, age 12
"It would be great to be a wizard because you could control situations and things like teachers".
Jeffrey, age 11
"I feel like I'm inside Harry's world. If I went to wizard school, I'd study everything: spells, counterspells, and defense against the dark arts". Carolyn, age 10

The Association of Teachers and Lecturers had this to say, "This goes beyond a case of reading a Harry Potter story, this represents an extremely worrying trend among young people".
Who Publishes This Book?
Scholastic Inc., the largest publisher of children's books, reaching 32-million children per year, also publishes books that introduce witchcraft and spiritism, including the book series called Goosebumps. Scholastic Inc., using its monopoly and prominence in the school system, recommends that teachers read Harry Potter stories aloud to children--in which hundreds of teachers are doing. While bible reading is banned in schools, doctrines of devils are accepted and repackaged in the form of Harry Potter books and practical exercise. Bridges are quite evident.
The child is introduced to the so-called fantasy literature in the school system which is supported by taxpayer money. It is a religion being taught through Harry Potter and other reading materials and tools that supports further in-depth discovery, and leads you to websites that are fascinating you with witchcraft, philosophical world view, and instructions on how to cast spells. In addition, Warner Brothers' websites ask you to enroll into the Hogworth's school of witchcraft and wizardry.
Joanne Rowling, author of the Harry Potter books, said "she knows the characters are evil, but moral". Though her characters are fictional, her inspiration behind them are borrowed from paganism, satanism, druidism, spells, incantation, celtic religion, and witchcraft, and its philosophy is put into Harry Potter. These Harry Potter books introduce the children overtly and covertly to witchcraft, curses and spells, divination and sorcery, occult symbology, evolution and reincarnation, demon possession, seasonal/nature celebrations, communing with the dead and spirit world, shape shifting, and more.
Deuteronomy 18:9-12 says, "When you come into the land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord. Romans 12:9 says, "Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good." Therefore, we know this book is not of God. We are researching further as to our proactive stand in this matter. In the interim, we have some credible book and video resources available at Cornerstone Bookstores.
Line Upon Line Strategy
The Harry Potter series have many subtleties that can easily be overlooked by the casual reader. The series allows the reader to grow up with the character, therefore giving the character a human quality (growth). Book #1 begins with an 11-year old, Harry Potter, as a beginner learning these arts. In Book #2, Harry Potter is now a little more advanced at the age of 12. In Book #5, Harry is 14-years old and very competent in the so-called black arts.
This strategy offers subliminal suggestions that mastery is a process and can be fun. Remember the reader is looking at another child, though fictional, and identifying with his experiences as well as his disappointments with others. Actually what makes this approach more dangerous reading for our children, is that this story is couched in fantasy language and made to be humorous. It is beautifully written and extremely provocative reading and once read leads children to want the next one. This is what's so harmful.
The Good News
The Word of God tells us in Proverbs 11:6, "the seed of the righteous shall be delivered, and no weapon formed against us or our children shall prosper". We need more Christians in schools and Christian schools to combat this assault. We do have a school called Living Word Christian Academy for your consideration. For more information on the school, please call 708-547-7350. For more information or questions regarding this topic or inquiries regarding "The Occult", please call our Occult Watch Information Center at The Living Word School of Ministry and Leadership at 708-488-0713.

HALLOWEEN
By David N. Taylor (The Storehouse Church)It's History and OriginThree hundred years before Jesus was born, a civilization of people called the Celtics lived throughout the British Isles, Scandinavia, and Western Europe. They were a common group, much like many segments of society today, but they were controlled by a secret society of priests and pagans called the Druids.
The Druids were satanists who worshipped and served the demonic god of death - Samhain (pronounced Sa-man). These satanic priests literally controlled people's lives through the mechanism of fear, and much death, disease, and destruction came upon the Celtics as a result of the Druids and their practices.
Each year on October 31, the Druids celebrated the eve of the Celtic new year in honor of their pagan god, Samhain. The "Festival of Samhain," more assuredly called "The Festival of Death," was officially known, and is still recognized today by all satanists, occultists, and devil worshippers as the eve of the new year for witchcrafts.
Anton Lavey, author of "The Satanic Bible" and high priest of The Church of Satan, says there are three important days to satanists: 1) their birthday, 2) April 30, and 3) THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY - HALLOWEEN.
Lavey says it is on this night that satanic, occult, and witchcraft powers are at their highest potency level, and any witch or occultist who has been having difficulty with a spell or curse can usually achieve success on October 31st because Satan and his powers are at their best that night. October 31st, Halloween, is the eve of the new year for witchcraft. The World Book Encyclopedia says it is the beginning of all that is "cold, dark, and dead!" When you send your little children out to go "trick-or-treating", you're actually telling them to celebrate all that is cold, dark, and dead!
Trick-or-TreatThe Druid priests would go from house to house demanding all sorts of strange foods for their own consumption and to offer later to "Lord Samhain" at The Festival of Death. If the village people would not give them the foods demanded, they would speak a demonic curse over the home, and history claims that someone in that family would die within the year. Thus you have "trick-or-treat"!
The Druids would carry with them a large turnip, which they had hollowed out on the inside and carved a face on the front, to represent the demonic spirit they depended upon for their power and knowledge.
This spirit is called "a familiar spirit". (See Acts 16:16-18) The turnip, lighted by a candle from within, was used as a lantern for the Druids as they went from house to house at night. Now, it was believed by the Druids that their familiar spirit would inhabit these turnips and assist them in carrying out the spells spoken over the homes and lives of those refusing the Druids' demands.
When this practice came to America in the 8th and 19th centuries, turnips weren't that prominent, but we did have a vegetable native to this country that was soon substituted for the turnips. That's right - the pumpkin. The name given to the spirit which inhabited the turnip was "Jock," and upon arriving in America it became "Jack, who lives in the lantern" or "Jack-O Lantern".
As you can clearly see, there is NOTHING Christian about Halloween. It is today what it has always been - a day dedicated to the devil.
What Should Our Position as A Christian Be?The most common complaints about anyone taking a stand against Halloween is (#1) - "You're trying to take all the fun out of little children's lives," and (#2) - "You're trying to make something out of nothing, because we don't believe in that stuff."
Now listen! Just because you don't believe in something does not mean that it's not real. I know some people who don't believe we've ever landed a spaceship on the moon. They believe that those television pictures are just made up. But, tell me something. Does that change the fact that man has walked on the surface of the moon? Of course not! Facts are facts regardless of what some people choose to believe. Just because you don't visualize Halloween as "really" demonic and as something dangerous to your life, does not keep you or your children from Satan's intended desire which is to instill FEAR!, DEATH!, and DESTRUCTION! into people's minds.
Think about it. What is Halloween besides fear, horror, ghosts, witches, goblins, and devils? Just because you don't "worship Satan," does that give you the right to train your children to serve him one night out of the year in the name of fun? That's what we do if we allow our families to participate in common Halloween practices.
The Bible says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." (Proverbs 22:6) How can we righteously instruct our children in the ways of Halloween when everything about Halloween is of the devil? The Bible says, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7) It further states,
"Perfect love casteth out fear." (I John 4:18) Does Halloween cause our children to be at peace, or does it cause them to become terribly afraid? Remember going through the "house of horror" at the Halloween carnival at our school or church when we were growing up and the fear that gripped us as we felt and heard all kinds of mysterious things? As adults today, maybe it's funny, but to a little child it's terror that causes nightmares and very unpleasant memories when alone or in the darkness of night.
The Bible says, "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a Believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are temples of the Living God. As God has said, "I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore come out from them and be separate,' says the Lord, 'touch no unclean thing and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters,' says the Lord Almighty." (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)
Why should Christians not honor Halloween? Because it is paying homage to the devil. It's the spirit behind Halloween which makes it wrong.
"Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them". (Ephesians 5:11)
"Do I not hate those who hate you, O Lord, and abhor those who rise up against you? I have nothing but hatred for them; I count them my enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting". (Psalm 139:21-24)
"Anyone who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins." (James 4:17)
"The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6:23)
If we really desire to honor the Lord in our lives and family, then we must teach our children concerning the truth about Halloween, and provide them with an alternative to "trick-or treating". Don't just take away the bad, give them something to take it's place that will honor the Lord instead of honoring the devil.
God desires for children of all ages to have fun, but fun at the expense of serving the devil is not fun at all.
How Did It Get Into The Church? When Constantine became Emperor of Rome, he made a law declaring Christianity (which was Catholicism at this particular time in history) to be the official state religion. Having been recently converted by a tremendous martyr of that time, Constantine was zealous in his new- found faith and demanded as emperor that everyone become a Christian or face the penalty of death. This was the old "throw them to the lions" that the Christians had been facing for years. Well, you can imagine what happened.
The church was flooded with pagans. Not converts, but rather pagan people forced to join the Catholic Church or lose their lives for defying the Emperor. As this happened, the priests and especially the Pope faced some serious problems. These people were bringing all their pagan practices and ideas into the church including "The Festival of Samhain". They wanted - no, demanded - that this festival remain a part of their lives.
Since the church was unsuccessful in getting the pagan practices out of the people, it was decided to sanctify some of them. Especially this October 31st ritual called "The Festival of Samhain". In the 9th century, the Pope declared a new day to be celebrated by the church on November 1st, called All Saint's Day. This day is in honor of all the martyred saints of the church, and October 31st became the eve of All Saint's Day. Now, the church contended, the people could still have festival on October 31st because November 1st was a holy day.
The Mass said on All Saint's Day is the "All hallowmas" and over the years the evening before became known as "All Hallow's Eve - All Hallowed Eve - All Hallow E'en - and finally Halloween. But, the problem was that nothing changed. The people didn't lay down their pagan rites and worship of devils for this "new eve" established by the church. They didn't have prayer meetings or worship services to thank Almighty God for the saints already gone. What it was in the beginning, it now still is. Halloween is a day that honors and promotes all that is cold, dark, and dead. When you start making preparations for a "Halloween Party," you don't go to the store and purchase pictures of Joan of Arc, the disciples of Jesus, or any other Christian saint. You look for ghosts, witches, black cats, ghouls, etc. Halloween is a day for devils - not saints. What the Pope attempted to do in the AD 800's backfired, because in making "All hallowmas" holy, Halloween became recognized by the church as a religious holiday, and nothing could be further from the truth. In reality, all Halloween is and ever will be is "The Festival of Samhain," the Lord of Death. Halloween has no roots in the Church, but is firmly rooted in the occult, witchcraft, and satanism.
Doreen Irving, who was the ruling witch of Western Europe and the British Isles and was the mistress of the high priest of Satan over that same area, is now a born-again, spirit-filled Christian. She says, "If Christian parents had any idea of what Halloween really is, they wouldn't even mention the word around their children."
CLOSING THE DOOR TO DECEPTION!
By Pastor Bill Winston"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils" I Timothy 4:1
This is a glorious time to be alive in the Kingdom of God in the earth. In the days to come, we are going to see an increase of what appears to be "supernatural manifestations" such as psychic hotlines, sorcery, readers, yoga, and other occult practices. While God is pouring out His Spirit upon all flesh, the gifts of the Spirit will be in full operation. Satan has a parallel plan by way of his signs and lying wonders to deceive the nations of the earth into serving him. Behind these activities are demonic spirits giving the person (medium or reader) manifestations of ESP, telepathy, and other premonitions. These manifestations are demonic and are counterfeit works of the Holy Spirit.
In the book of Exodus, Moses threw down his rod and it became a serpent. Pharaoh called the wise men, the sorcerers, and the magicians of Egypt and they did the same (Exodus 7:10-11).
In the book of Acts, Simon the Sorcerer used witchcraft and all the people in that area of Samaria said, "this man is the great power of God. To him they had regard, because that of a longtime he had bewitched them with sorceries" (Acts 8:9).
In Acts, chapter sixteen, there is an account of a woman possessed with a spirit of divination, a soothsayer or fortuneteller. Paul commanded the spirit to come out in the Name of Jesus and the woman lost the ability to tell fortunes.
In the following pages, we discuss some spirits operating in the occult. We will share how to recognize them and stay free of their influence.
Satanic Influences
Spirit of Divination- Divination is broadly defined as an attempt to discern future events or to discover that which cannot be known by normal methods of discovery. The familiar spirit is sought out to assist a person in his quest for hidden knowledge, guidance, and power. Divination includes the practices of occultists, spiritist mediums, witches, Haitian voodoo priests, American medicine men, and Siberian shamans. God has judged it as wrong. He calls divination an abomination and pronounces a curse upon anyone who practices it.
The practice of attempting to foretell future events. The Word of God tells us that people who divine are controlled or possessed by demonic spirits which enable them to receive information beyond the human intellect at a particular time. God's prophets receive their divine revelation by the Holy Spirit. On the other side of the spectrum are demonic spirits feeding information to fortunetellers and sorcerers.

Familiar Spirits- Familiar spirits is the designation of a specific type of evil spirit. It is so classified because of its chief characteristic; namely, familiarity. It is a relationship, a familiarity, with a person. For example, a woman whom Paul encountered in Macedonia, had a familiar spirit which gave her powers of divination. (See Acts 16:16-18). Familiar spirits are common amid the practices of spiritism and witchcraft, but their activity is by no means limited to persons and practices so obviously occult. Evil spirits are personalities, and personalities have the capacity to relate to one another. When a person forms a relationship with an evil spirit, (which can be done either willfully or through ignorance), that person then has a familiar spirit. Thus, anyone who becomes a channel of communication with an evil spirit is a medium. He has a familiar spirit.

Special Note:God's Word clearly forbids communication with spirits of the dead (see Deuteronomy 18:11). Familiar spirits can impersonate a deceased friend or relative. The scripture says, "There is one mediator between God and men, that man is Christ Jesus (1 Tim. 2:5). Jesus said, "no man cometh to the Father, but by me" (John 14:6). There are some, however, who have been taught to pray to departed saints or Mary as mediators. When men pray to the spirits of these departed dead they are practicing necromancy.
Spirit of the Anti-Christ- (all spirits named in this outline deny some part or authority of Jesus Christ) - This spirit attacks the very foundation of Christianity, the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, and the truth of the Gospel, such as the Atonement, Healing, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, the Resurrection of the Dead, the Rapture of the Church, and the Lord's Second Coming. If Jesus was not God in the flesh, then all His other claims are false.
The spirit of anti-christ works through those who teach that Jesus was a good man but nothing more. Muslims categorize Jesus as being a great prophet but just one of many. Even the supposed messages from UFO's nullify the divinity of Christ.

Seducing Spirits- These strongmen will be especially active in the last days of our age as wickedness becomes more intense. Their prime target will be people who have accepted Christ as their Savior. Satan plays both ends against the middle. If he can't entice Christians with the usual sins, he uses false religions and doctrinal error to entangle them. For varied reasons, these blood-washed Believers will "depart from the faith" and embrace religions invented by devils.
How exactly does Satan seduce a Christian? "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." (James 1:14-15)

Not Everything Is Caused By Demons
Do NOT believe that Christians can be demon possessed. But they certainly can be attacked in their mind, will, emotions, and body. They can be troubled, pressed, buffeted, harassed, depressed, obsessed, oppressed, in bondage, and bruised. Those people who are in the final state of possession or are indwelt have long since severed their relationship with God. The following are some scriptures which lead us to believe that blood-washed Believers, living according to the Word of God and who love the Lord with all of their heart, cannot be demon possessed.
1. I Corinthians 10:21 "Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils."
2. I Corinthians 3:16-17 "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."
3. I Corinthians 6:19 "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?"
4. I John 4:4 "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he (God) that is in you, than he (devil) that is in the world."
5. I Corinthians 2:12 "Now we have received, not the spirit of the world (demonic), but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given us of God."
6. I John 5:18 "We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not."
How A Church Member Got Possessed
(A Testimony By Lester Sumrall)
"Evil spirit, how did you get into this woman?" It answered back, "She came to the adult motion picture theater to see a sex movie. While she was watching I was there and I had a right to go into her."
This opened up a tremendous avenue of thinking for us all. If Jesus were on this earth, He would not frequent theaters to allow himself to be contaminated with filthy, immoral and sensual suggestions or listen to obscenities and dirty jokes.
When a person deliberately goes into the devil's territory, while he is there it is possible to become a victim of whatever the devil offers, even though the person claims to be a Christian. For example, because we live in America, we have the full protection as an American citizen. If I crossed the border and went into communist China my protection and rights would cease. The same is true in spiritual things. Cross over into the devil's territory and you may pay a severe price.
Open Doors
Paul tells us that we are the determining factor in whether the devil can operate in our life or not. He says, "Neither give place to the devil." Or as the Amplified Bible says, "leave no room or foothold for the devil"…give no opportunity to him. When we allow openings in our spiritual life, the devil feels he has the right to take advantage of us in those specific territories. If we keep the doors closed, he can't do what he would like to do.
The Bible introduces us to the open door principle in Genesis 4:7 when the Lord said to Cain, "If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door."
God told Cain that Satan was crouched at his doorway, waiting to leap into his life. Cain had the choice and because he chose to open the door to jealousy, Satan led him into the murder of his brother, Abel.
Sin is progressive. One thing leads to another until we find ourselves in big trouble. For that reason, we must learn to close those doors and keep them closed before they develop into something harmful.
Trust In The Lord
MANY HAVE UNFAIRLY ATTRIBUTED ACTS TO GOD THAT WERE REALLY OF THE DEVIL. The results are devastating. What can the person do if he believes it is God who sent sickness into his life to teach him something? He shouldn't fight against God so he allows the sickness to rob him of his health when he should be resisting it in the Name of Jesus to be healed. We are now able to recognize WHO is doing WHAT in our lives so that we can react correctly according to God's Word. (Ephesians 4:27)
Prayer For Deliverance (Read this aloud)
Lord Jesus, I belong to You. You have saved me and redeemed me by Your blood. I have need of no spirit other than The Holy Spirit. Forgive me for having sought from other spirits that which should only come from You. I renounce and separate myself from all familiar spirits, psychic involvements, evil curses, charms, psychic powers, bewitchments, witchcraft, or sorcery which may have been put upon me or my family line; from any person or persons or from any occult or psychic source, however acquired. I call upon you, Lord, to deliver me from the lies and deceptions of familiar spirits. Teach me Your truth and Your ways. It is my earnest desire to walk in Your will (Word) and to glorify Your Name.
Satan, I renounce you. I take back all the ground I ever yielded to you. God is my source of knowledge, guidance, and power. You familiar spirit, leave me in the Name of Jesus.
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for delivering me and cleansing me from all unrighteousness by Your Precious blood. In Jesus' Name. Amen
* * Burn all paraphernalia (symbols), charms, amulets, books, and pictures associated with these ungodly practices. (See Acts 19:19). Pray for salvation. Pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Prayer For Salvation
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, ". ..him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out" (John 6:37). So I know You won't cast me out, but You take me in. And I thank You for it.
You said in Your Word "...if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, THOU SHALT BE SAVED. For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved". (Romans 10:9,13) I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe He was raised from the dead for my justification. I am calling upon His Name - the Name of Jesus - so I know, Father, that You save me now.
Your Word says, "...with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation". (Romans 10:10) I do believe with my heart, and I confess Jesus now as my Lord. Therefore I am saved!
Thank You, Father!
How To Receive The Baptism In The Holy Spirit
Step One
Jesus said, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" (Luke 11:13) Notice the two major criteria for receiving the Holy Spirit. First, God must be your Father. This means you must be born again, or have the "within experience". Secondly, you have to ask him believing that if you ask it shall be given.
"And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Of if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" (Luke 11:9-13).
Step one is to ask Him. Remember, all that we receive from God must be received by faith. Faith begins where the will of God is known. If you think it is not God's will for you to have it, it is hard to get faith to receive it.
Some years ago I received the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking with other tongues, and it changed my whole life. Shortly before that time, I had received Christ as my Savior, however, I had a hunger for more of God. The church that I was attending did not believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. They taught that you got it all when you were water baptized. So I had to go where they believed and taught this truth. Since I have been Spirit-filled with the evidence of speaking with other tongues, I have seen a dimension of supernatural ability and wisdom added to my life that I never had before. When I was still working in corporate America as a sales manager at one of the largest corporations in the world, I would go in my office and pray in the spirit (tongues) and watch miraculous things happen in my meetings and to my computer sales team. How was this happening? God was enabling me by the power of the Holy Ghost. I came out number one sales manager for two consecutive years. (To God be the Glory!)
Most times I would pray in tongues before I went out street witnessing or evangelizing with other Believers and God would lead us right to those who were crying out for His loving touch. I also saw many bad habits fall away from my life. I guess that is why He is called Holy Spirit. The Bible even says that when we don't know how to pray in a particular situation we can pray in the spirit or tongues (our heavenly language) and thereby pray the perfect will of God (Romans 8:26-2 7). Scripture also teaches, "for if I pray in an unknown tongue my spirit prayeth (the real born-again person inside) but my understanding is unfruitful" (I Corinthians 14:14). This means that your mind does not fully comprehend what is going on. However, your spirit, your inner man, the "real" you, is praying in a heavenly language the perfect will of God. Paul the Apostle who gave us this revelation said, "I speak with tongues more than ye all" (I Corinthians 14:18).
Step Two
After you have asked, you must believe you receive when you pray. To receive from God, you must do it by faith. That means you must believe and act like it is already done. Do not look for a feeling. Oh, the feeling will come, but it follows your Faith. Notice when Jesus came to live inside you, the feeling followed you receiving Him as your new Lord. "What things soever ye desire when you pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." (Mark 11:24).
Step Three
Lift your hands and say, "Thank you, Jesus." Start thanking God and praising God, and a supernatural utterance will begin to come forth not by your own ability, but by the ability that God supplies. This is a supernatural manifestation of God.

What About Celebrating Christmas?
By Kenneth Copeland MinistriesFor years, Christians have debated about the right way and time to celebrate religious holidays such as Christmas and Easter. Many are concerned because the dates and some of the traditions in current use may have been influenced by pagan religions.
As Christians, we need to be aware of these things. At the same time, we need to remember that God is the One Who instituted the concept of holidays. He instructed Israel to have feasts and special memorial celebrations in the Old Testament, knowing it is beneficial for men to continually remember and praise God for all the good things He has done for them.
Satan is the one who imitates and twists whatever God originally created or instituted. So if anyone is doing the imitating in regard to the celebrating of holidays like Christmas, it is the ungodly, not Christians. We should make no apologies for wanting to commemorate and thank God for the greatest gift He ever gave us-His precious Son, Jesus.
Instructions for celebrating the life of Jesus are not specified in the New Testament, except for the instructions given regarding Communion in 1 Corinthians 11:23-34. But there are certain principles we can follow. Colossians 3:17 says, "Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." And Colossians 2:16-17 makes it quite clear that we are not to let anyone else judge how we choose to celebrate a holy day or special religious festival: "Therefore let none sit in judgment on you in matters of food and drink, or with regard to a feast day or a new moon or a Sabbath. Such [things] are only the shadow of things that are to come, and they have only a symbolic value. But the reality-the substance, the solid fact of what is foreshadowed, the body of it-belongs to Christ" (The Amplified Bible).
Regardless of the day designated as a holiday by the world or the Church, as believers we should give honor to Jesus every day, in everything we do. As long as we are celebrating the reality of the One Who is the real reason for the celebrations, we are not condemned whether we have a Christmas tree, or not, or whether others are celebrating at the same time for reasons other than to glorify God.
The following reprint of an article from the Believer's Voice of Victory magazine is an example of how Christians should not be robbed of a wonderful testimony that the world has radically changed for its own purposes. It's the story of the real St. Nicholas.
St. Nicholas: The Man Who Celebrated JesusSt. Nicholas should be an inspiration to us all. He was a godly man whose reputation for giving to people caused him to be a revered example of what compassion and giving are all about. He was not a jolly fat man who climbed down chimneys, and he didn't have flying reindeer.
Stories of his life-a life full of Christian beliefs and values-are the real background for today's mythical Santa Claus. So much of what Nicholas was-and what Santa Claus has become-has been distorted by Satan. What has been done to weaken and contort the testimony of this godly man is really pathetic.
The real story of Christmas is the story of Jesus-God's precious gift to us. Our Heavenly Father is the real Gift-Giver. Nicholas grew up knowing the real Gift-Giver.
Nicholas and his parents lived in Turkey in the third century and were Christians. Nicholas' parents had prayed and asked God for a child, much as Abraham and Sarah had done. From the time Nicholas was born in about A.D. 280, they considered him a gift from God. Diligently, they taught their young son devotion to God and to be very generous to the poor. Although they both died when Nicholas was in his teens, their heritage of living for God and giving followed Nicholas.
Ordained as a young teenager, Nicholas entered the priesthood at age 19. His uncle, the bishop who ordained him, prophesied that Nicholas would offer guidance and consolation to many people, that he would eventually become a bishop, and that he would live a life of enlightenment. Eventually he did become the bishop of a small, coastal village, and his influence spread into many nations.
Many accounts have been written about the life of Nicholas. It was said that he would spend all night studying God's Word to bring it to the people. He was known for helping the poor, for praying, fasting, and standing steadfast in faith and goodness. Many miracles were brought about through his prayers. Included among the accounts of his ministry is the report of twin brothers who were raised from the dead. It was written that one could hardly keep count of the virtue and goodness he spread around him.
One particular story of Nicholas' goodness is the reason many pictures show him with three golden spheres. These represent three bags of gold that he gave to a poor man so his three daughters could be married. The man was so poor his daughters had no dowries, and he was so desperate he was planning to sell them into what we would call white slavery.
To keep that from happening, Nicholas threw a bag of gold pieces through the man's window in the night so no one would know who had done it. He wanted God to get the credit for it. Because of this, the eldest daughter had a dowry. She was no longer an outcast and could be married.
Not long after that, Nicholas did the same thing for the second daughter, saving her from a familiar fate. When he did it for the third daughter, the father caught him. Nicholas made the father swear an oath that he would never reveal who was responsible for those gifts as long as Nicholas was alive.
When Nicholas died on December 6, A.D. 343, he is said to have quoted Psalm 11 with his last breath: "In the Lord I put my trust."
In the Greek language, the name Nicholas means "victorious" or "hero of the people", and he did indeed become a very popular figure in the centuries that followed his death. Stories of Nicholas spread throughout Greece and into Russia. He became the popular patron saint of Russians, who called him "Nikolai, the wonderworker".
In 1087, the remains of St Nicholas' grave were transported from Turkey to Bari, Italy, where a basilica was built in his honor. Soon after, his popularity spread throughout Italy and across Western Europe. December 6, the day of his death, became St. Nicholas Day on the Roman Catholic calendar, and the custom of gift-giving on December 6 began in France and spread across all of Europe.
You can see similarities between the better characteristics of the Santa Claus character, who gives gifts at night-not to be seen by anyone, and St. Nicholas' gold-piece throwing. But how did the story of such a man of God get turned into a story of an elf workshop at the North Pole?
With the Protestant Reformation of the 1500s, the worshiping of the saints was denounced, and St. Nicholas Day was no longer observed in England.
In Holland and Belgium, the traditional day of December 6 was still celebrated. There, Sinter Klaas rode through the streets on a white horse, rewarding good children with treats and toys and giving rods or switches to bad children. In Germany, the saint was referred to as "Nicholas dressed in fur" and also left sweets for good children and rods for the bad ones.
Christopher Columbus brought the first celebration of St. Nicholas Day to the New World when he landed in the West Indies on December 6, 1492, and named the harbor Port of St. Nicholas, in honor of the patron saint of sailors.
All of these traditions blended with immigration to the New World. As the English and Dutch came and intermarried, Father Christmas and Sinter Klaas blended into one figure. Dutch Americans eventually adopted December 25 as their day of celebration, and by the end of the Civil War, St. Nicholas the bishop was generally known in the United States as Santa Claus.
The poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas" further shaped the American Santa. Another popular poem, originally titled "A Visit from St. Nicholas," was penned by New York professor Clement Moore in the 1800s and created a word picture portraying a round-bellied Santa with a huge pack on his back. Picking up on this image, cartoonist Thomas Nast added a North Pole toy workshop in his cartoons for Harper's Weekly magazine. In 1925, a large corporation ran an advertising campaign of Santa Claus further defining him as a large man with a red and white fur suit, black boots, and a long, flowing beard closest depiction of our present-day Santa.
The American Santa Claus, like America itself, came from a melting pot of Old World cultures and characters. He is the Dutch Sinter Klaas and the Lutheran Kris Kringle who bring gifts to children. His red garment is lined with fur like the German version of Nicholas, and he spreads merriment and cheer like Father Christmas. And a team of reindeer, borrowed from a Russian legend, accompanies Santa Claus on his journey through the night.
The tragic part in all this is how the devil has contorted the man and the ministry of St. Nicholas- the man who had such fullness of God that even the dead were raised! He was popular because of his reputation of honor, his godly ways, and his giving nature. But it's just like the devil to twist the ministry of such a powerful man until it is hidden in the tales of a little fat-bellied, pipe-smoking pie eater.
The story of the true St. Nicholas is a beautiful picture of the giving that Christmas is really about- instead of the fretting and getting that the American Santa now represents. St. Nicholas represents the giving heart of our Heavenly Father, Who doesn't give switches and rods but Who always gives only good gifts.
The greatest gift of all is the gift of Jesus Christ to us from God the Father. Jesus is our hope, redemption and victory. He is our advocate with the Father, our blood-covenant Friend Who will never leave nor forsake us. In Him, we have the joy of living a heavenly life on earth.
He is the meaning of Christmas. "Christ mass" means "anointing celebration." It's the celebration of "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power..." It's the celebration of how the anointed Jesus "...went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil..." (Acts 10:38). It's the story of our triumphant Savior-Jesus, the Christ-the King of kings and Lord of lords!
Now, that's a Merry Christmas!
