Resurrection Bible Scriptures &
14 Days on Resurrection Reading Plan

R2025-1

54 Resurrection Scriptures

Matthew 22:23–24
23 The same day the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him and asked Him,

24     saying: “Teacher, Moses said that if a man dies, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.

Matthew 22:28
28     Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be?

Matthew 22:29–30
29     Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.
30     For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.

Matthew 22:31–32
31     But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God, saying,
32     ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?

Matthew 27:51–53  Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,
52     and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;
53     and coming out of the graves after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many.

Mark 12:18  Question of the Resurrection Mark 12:18–19  Then some Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Him; and they asked Him, saying:
19     “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies, and leaves his wife behind, and leaves no children, his brother should take his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.

Mark 12:23
23     Therefore, in the resurrection, when they rise, whose wife will she be?

Mark 16:1  The Resurrection of Jesus Luke 13:32
32     And He said to them, “Go, tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.’

Luke 14:14
14     And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

Luke 18:31  Christ Foretells His Death and Resurrection

Luke 20:27  Sadducees Question Resurrection
Luke 20:27–28  Then some of the Sadducees, who deny that there is a resurrection, came to Him and asked Him,
28     saying: “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies, having a wife, and he dies without children, his brother should take his wife and raise up offspring for his brother.

Luke 20:33

33     Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife does she become?

Luke 20:35–36
35     But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage;   36     nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

Luke 24:1  The Resurrection
Luke 24:33  The Proof of His Resurrection John 5:26–29
26     For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,
27     and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.
28     Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice
29     and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

John 11:24

24     Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.”
John 11:25      25     Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.
John 16:16  The Prediction of Christ’s Death and Resurrection
John 20:1  The Resurrection of Christ Acts 1:21–22
21     “Therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,
22     beginning from the baptism of John to that day when He was taken up from us, one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.”

Acts 2:30–31
30     Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,
31     he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption.
Acts 4:1–2  Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them,
2     being greatly disturbed that they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
Acts 4:33
33     And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 17:18  Others said, “He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods,” because he preached to them Jesus and the resurrection.
Acts 17:32
32     And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, “We will hear you again on this matter.”

Acts 23:6      6     But when Paul perceived that one part were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, “Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee; concerning the hope and resurrection of the dead I am being judged!”
Acts 23:8      8     For Sadducees say that there is no resurrection—and no angel or spirit; but the Pharisees confess both.
Acts 24:15      15     I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust.
Acts 24:20–21      20     Or else let those who are here themselves say if they found any wrongdoing in me while I stood before the council,
21     unless it is for this one statement which I cried out, standing among them, ‘Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am being judged by you this day.’

Romans 1:1–4  Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God
2     which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures,
3     concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,
4     and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead.
Romans 6:5–6
5     For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
6     knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

1 Corinthians 15:12  Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?
1 Corinthians 15:13      13     But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen.
1 Corinthians 15:21      21     For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.
1 Corinthians 15:29  Effects of Denying the Resurrection
1 Corinthians 15:42      42     So also is the resurrection of the dead.

2 Corinthians 5:1  Assurance of the Resurrection

Philippians 3:8–11
8     Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ
9     and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;
10     that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,
11     if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

2 Timothy 2:17–18  Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort,
18     who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some.

Hebrews 6:1–2  Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,
2     of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
Hebrews 11:35  Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection.

1 Peter 1:3–5  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4     to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you,
5     who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
1 Peter 3:21–22
21     There is also an antitype which now saves us—baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
22     who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, angels and authorities and powers having been made subject to Him.

Revelation 11:11  The Witnesses Resurrected
Revelation 20:5  This is the first resurrection.
Revelation 20:6      6     Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection.

The New King James Version (Zep 3:8–Re 20:6). (1982). Thomas Nelson.
