​Change Your Perspective…Seeing Your Situation Through the Lens of Grace

Are you a glass half full or half empty person? What would God say  

1) Look past what you see to what He says.
2 Cor. 4:18  - while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Kings 6: 8-20
God was not showing the man what was in the natural, but the supernatural – which is more real than the natural

He had to OPEN the man’s spiritual eyes
 
2) ACT on what God says, not what you see
Watch your words
Matthew 15:11 -  Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.
 
Proverbs 18:21 – life and death are in the power of the tongue
 
Do what He says to do
Luke 5 – Peter and the net
 
Go on with Joy
​Hebrews 12:2 - a]author and [b]finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
 
Psalm 42:11 – what are you cast down, O my soul? (David is talking to himself), and why are you disquieted withing me? Have hope in God, for I shall praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God
 
3) Your Perspective Isn’t just for You
People are watching you
Matthew 5:16 -   Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven – you bring people to the glory of God by your witness!
 
Romans 14:20 - It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles [h]or is offended or is made weak. 
 
Acts 1:8 -    [c]witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
 
We are to be HOPE DEALERS – not HOPE STEALERS  

Go back to the glass analogy – What would God say? God says OUR CUP RUNNETH OVER!!!!  So, be like God, see your situation through God’s eyes, through the eyes of the Word!!
